LET'S HELP HARINAKSHI

Harinakshi is a 39-year-old mother of two sons. Her elder son is doing his B.Sc. at Mysore, while she was leading a simple, peaceful life with her husband Mrithyunjaya and 4-year-old second son at Kushalnagar. Mrithyunjaya works for a retail shoe shop besides selling footwear to schools as an agent. His monthly income is just around Rs.5000/- to Rs.6000/-. The son at Mysore studies well and shares a small room costing Rs.800/- a month with three other friends and cooks his own food. He had to leave Kushalnagar as there is no college there.

All of a sudden fate opened its ugly eyes and Harinakshi was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a surgery in Mysore, which failed and she rushed to Bangalore because she wants to live for the sake of her little son. She is now undergoing treatment at M.S.Ramaiah Hospital (at the Section meant for poor patients). The treatment is subsidized. She has already gone through five cycles of Chemotherapy and is left with another 3 cycles. Thereafter she is advised to take radiotherapy too.

So far, she has been meeting the expenses out of borrowings from friends, relatives and private money lenders. Every time, she has to come to Bangalore for the Chemo session, which also involves expenditure. Left with very little options, she has approached the Hospital authorities for further subsidy and they have referred her to SAHYOG.

The doctors say she has reached them at the right moment and she has to fight out for the sake of her little son. She will recover. She puts up with the painful treatment and the gory side effects, all with that hope.

She may require roughly around Rs.15000/- to complete her treatment and SAHYOG trustees feel this is a genuine case to take up. We have made our background survey and feel by helping her, we will be helping the entire family.

Donors interested in donating for Harinakshi either in part or full, please let us know. Your donations will be eligible for exemptions under Section 80G of the IT Act.

Though we do have a little fund to help Harinakshi, we thought we should inform friends in advance so that people who want to specifically sponsor this case are given an opportunity.
