Prajwal

Prajwal is a bright young boy. He is the son of an auto-driver, who has a very small income out of which he has to meet his medical expenses and also repay the loan that he has availed for his auto. Thus he was finding it difficult to pay the tuition fees of Prajwal, who is now in his twelfth standard. SAHYOG made a token contribution of Rs.5000/- to Prajwal along with a few other well-wishers.

Our latest effort

Ramanamma is a poor domestic maid, who works in four houses. She is a widow and her only son, who is 24 years old is running an autorickshaw, which he has purchased by availing a loan. Two years ago, she was diagnosed of ovarian cancer. She underwent treatment at Kidwai Memorial Hospital. The treatment had cost her nearly 1.5 to 1.6 lakhs and hence they had borrowed monies from private money lenders and close relatives. The doctors had certified that she was cured and guaranteed 5 years of peaceful life. Ramanamma continued her work during the last year, as she had to repay the loans. Unfortunately, the dreadful disease has relapsed. She knocked on our doors for help and thanks to our philanthropic donors, we have financed for her chemo cycles costing Rs.30000/-. We wish Ramanamma a speedy recovery and peaceful future. Please join us in our prayers.

2011 - Our deeds

24-year-old Pradeep K is an enthusiastic youngster, an eco-lover and wildlife activist. He has applied for a Government job. Last month, he caught a King cobra snake in his locality and before leaving it in the wild, he wanted to conduct an awareness show in the nearby school. During the show, he was bitten by the snake and was rushed to a nearby health centre. Due to an overdose of anti-dote and also due to some wrong first aid actions, his health condition worsened and he was admitted to M.S.Ramaiah Hospital. He underwent a surgery and had to be treated in the ICU due to so many complications. Despite the concessions extended by the hospital, the family had to meet Rs.20000/- expenses at the hospital. Pradeep is the only breadwinner of the poor family and hence SAHYOG assisted the family in meeting the expenses. Pradeep's treatment was successfully completed and he went home safely.

Sushmita, a 22-year-old lady is 6 months pregnant. Her husband is an auto-driver and a drunkard. She tripped and fell down and has been advised various tests like the deluxe doppler test, etc., all of which will cost her nearly Rs.19000/- at the discounted rates in M.S.Ramaiah hospital. Her husband has not turned up for days together and the poor parents and parents-in-law have been attending to her. Many young volunteers have collected a major portion of the amount and SAHYOG contributed Rs.3000/- towards the above expenditure. We wish the young mother and the new life all the best.

First deed of 2011

Mallappa, a poor daily wage earner had a fracture in his leg and was admitted to some private hospital. He underwent a surgery but got discharged forcefully, even before proper post-surgery care was given because he could not meet the expenses. He naturally was afflicted with some infections and got admitted to MS Ramaiah Hospital, Bangalore. He required intensive care and was admitted to the ICU but due to his misfortune, he fell off the ICU bed and fractured a limb once again. Now he requires another surgery and post-surgery care all of which will nearly cost him Rs.35000/-. Mansoor brought us this case and due to paucity of funds, we could guarantee only Rs.20000/- towards this case.

We once again call upon all our friends and well-wishers to donate liberally to SAHYOG and help us help more such unfortunate people in trouble.

Also, we propose adopting a rural school and supporting some expense on a regular basis, for which we require monthly contributions from donors regularly.

Hope to do more only with your support.
