The Wonder Youngster!

Mansoor has been our good friend for the last few months. It is amazing that this young man is helping the community around him in many ways. One of our trustees Sudha Narasimhachar felt he is worth being emulated and hence wrote a feature about him. Please go ahead and read the feature to know more about Mansoor Chetlu.

Send out this link to more youngsters and make more such useful citizens!

One small ray of hope!

One of the trustees of SAHYOG visited Ms.Mythili's Therapy clinic with Karthik and Nandini and was amazed! True, the hearing aids did help them to hear! She was touched by Karthik's excitement on hearing sounds for the first time. Karthik did not want to remove the aid from his ear. He repeated all the sounds that Ms.Mythili made, with full vigour. The trustee started dreaming with tears, of the day when Karthik and Nandini would be conversing normally with each other.

Thus SAHYOG donated the cost of the hearing aids to Mathru Trust and visually enjoyed the streak of joy that brightened the faces of these little kids.

SAHYOG calls for donations from one and all to see more such miracles happen. You can make a difference in the lives of the unfortunate. Join us in this journey and help us satisfy our souls. Show us ways of improving our financial strength to help more and more Karthiks and Nandinis.

Sense of hearing is indeed a boon!

Mathru Educational Trust for the Visually Challenged run by Ms.Muktha Gubbi and her friends is doing wonderful work for the development of nearly 110 visually challenged children. They run a fantastic residential school and work night and day for the over-all development of the children. Karthik

Recently this Trust has opened a new section for helping children with multiple disabilities. As I entered this Section, little Karthik welcomed me with his innocent smile and spoke to me in sign language. 7-year-old Karthik was born deaf and dumb. I was touched to see the sparkle in his eyes and the love that he exhibited towards everybody. Ms.Muktha told me that this boy could be assisted with a hearing aid costing Rs.12000/-. We both took the boy to Ms.Mythili, the Speech and Hearing therapist. I was amazed to see for myself how Karthik got excited on hearing sound for the first time in his life, when he was tested with a hearing aid. Of course, after getting him that equipment, a lot of work needs to done to help him understand and coordinate the sounds with whatever he knows by seeing. But getting him that equipment is in itself leading him half way. SAHYOG has decided to be a part of this exciting journey of little Karthik learning to talk and joining the other normal kids. Any interested donor who wants to specifically share this joy with SAHYOG may please send in the donations.

Nandini

7-year-old Nandini is very unfortunate. She is born blind and was a student of Mathru for the last two years. During this summer, she was taken home by her parents for a holiday and health camp. She contracted a fever there and suffered facial palsy and lost her hearing capacity within a gap of a month. Ms.Mythili tested Nandini and found out that she too could hear with a hearing aid on. This too costs Rs.12000/-. SAHYOG wants to help this unlucky child to at least regain her hearing capacity. Interested donors may please send in your donations.
