OUR FIRST ACTIVITY

We decided to announce our birth in a unique way and organised an 8-day accupressure-cum-magnetotherapy camp for the benefit of the local public of Yelahanka Satellite Town, Bangalore from 3.1.2010 to 10.1.2010. The camp was conducted by a charitable institute namely Dr.Ram Manohar Lohia Arogya Jeevan Sansthan, Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. Five trained professionals under the stewardship of naturopath Dr.Pankaj Kaushik manned the camp and quite a few of the local residents benefited from the treatment. The feedback was very encouraging and many of them wanted us to extend the camp. Our intention of making waves in the local community about SAHYOG and its actual intentions was served well.

We now plan to concentrate on beginning our actual work. We have got in touch with the Social Welfare Officers of Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology and M.S.Ramaiah Hospital (the section that caters to the poorer people) and are getting enquiries. Watch this blogspace for our further progress and support us in full.
All the pictures are self-explanatory except the fourth, which is that of the trustees of SAHYOG.

Birth of SAHYOG

SAHYOG was born out of a small spark that one of the blood donors lit in the year 2008. 8-year-old Mahesh, the son of a poor maid was diagnosed of blood cancer and admitted to the Kidwai Memorial Hospital, Bangalore. Thanks to the tens of kind-hearted well-wishers who helped this kid with money, blood, physical and moral support, today the kid is under remission and is attending school. He will be under observation for another 2 years to be labelled 'cured' but it is nice to see him out of the 'danger zone' and we hope with the prayers of so many, he will live a long life. This inspired us to register SAHYOG, a charitable trust to see many more such children, as well as adults belonging to the poorest of the poor classes, who may be able to get treated for serious illnesses, if only they get financial aid.

SAHYOG operates from HIG 1212, 8th B Cross, Yelahanka Satellite Town, Bangalore-560106, India

The trustees are - Srilakshmi Renganathan, T.V.Raghavendran, Sadhana M Bhat, R.V.Narasimhachar, Sudha Narasimhachar

The primary objective at present - to extend financial assistance for medical expenditure to the poorest of the poor

The trust account is no. SAHYOG ACCOUNT NO. 694104000002592 with IDBI Bank, Yelahanka New Town branch.
