Pictures of the wards referred to in our earlier post:

Before Renovation

AFTER RENOVATION (By another donor)

An Appeal

We wish all our donors and supporters a very peaceful and happy time for the rest of 2019.  We will be sending our blog regarding our activities for the last two financial years shortly.  We are sorry for the delay, which was due to many reasons.

Meanwhile, we thought we had to make an impactful contribution to the society once again, after our last such endeavour way back in 2015, when we donated funds towards construction of a semi-special ward in the Shankara Cancer Hospital, Chamarajpet, Bangalore.

We were informed that the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore, one of the biggest Cancer Hospitals in the State, catering to thousands of poor patients from all parts of Karnataka as also the neighbouring States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamilnadu and Kerala, is seeking for funds to renovate one of the oldest complex of special wards ‘Shanthidhaama’.  This is the hospital where the seed for SAHYOG was sown, when, in 2008, we were involved in the treatment of a young boy for blood cancer. We have seen personally, what the demand is like here. It is a very sad sight to see suffering patients being turned away for non-availability of wards or waiting in very unhygienic conditions for admission.

We met the Director Dr. Ramachandra, who was pleased that we wished to sponsor at least the cost of renovating one ward.  However, he said, he would be very thankful if we could sponsor the renovation of three wards, so that, with the rest already being renovated by other donors, the entire complex will be ready. Many big donors like Infosys Foundation are constructing/renovating entire complexes.  But, we from SAHYOG cannot dream that big. We felt we could think of renovating at least the three wards, which would cost around Rs.10 lacs, including GST. We thought of beginning with one ward, which costs Rs.3 lacs, including GST. However, our target is to donate for 3 wards, which we are sure is not very ambitious, what with the support of generous donors like you.

We enclose the pictures of the ward before renovation and after renovation [by an another donor].  Detailed estimate is available with us and we will provide the same to whoever wants to check it out.

Let us begin with some auspicious occasion in your lives - birthday, anniversary, wedding in the family, remembrance day of your elders, festival or any such day when you want to share your joy in the noblest way of donating for a good cause.  Be sure that your donation for this cause will go a long way in helping thousands of patients belonging to the poorest of the poor families, who will be thankful to you forever. We will be awaiting eagerly for your positive and quick response.

Donations can be made directly by transferring the amount of your choice to our SB account SAHYOG, A/c No. 694104000002592 at IDBI bank, Yelahanka Satellite Town Branch, Bangalore-560064; IFSC - IBKL0000694; OR send a cheque/DD favouring ‘SAHYOG’ to SAHYOG, HIG 1212, 8th B Cross, Yelahanka Satellite Town, Bangalore-560064.
